Project: Pryme

The pilot aims to test an installation for the transformation of non-recyclable Plastics in mineral oils by pyrolysis. The pilot fits into the goal of circular economy The process consists of: The plastic waste streams are supplied by boat or truck. The first step is to process the plastics to a size that is useful for the extruder. The second step is the actual pyrolysis unit consisting of an extruder, a reactor, a residual waste cooler and the condensation units.

ENERPY

Project: Enerpy

Duration: 2017 to present

Enerpy focuses on the recycling of raw materials from problematic organic waste. Through an Enerpy developed and patented technology, organic waste is converted into raw materials such as coal, oil and gas. The technology can be described as 'photonic radiolysis'

EDSG

Project: CCU

Duration: 2016 to present

EDSG captures the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) with a patented, environmentally friendly technique that it believes could capture it for 90 percent. In a closed system they carry algae, which convert it into substances like sugar and oil. For over the lettuce or as a raw material for plastic. The algae residues can still serve as animal feed.

H2Fuel is a technology that allows hydrogen to be stored in a liquid under normal atmospheric conditions. When the hydrogen is again taken out of this liquid, the efficiency is almost 100%. The liquid can be recycled: after use, hydrogen can be stored again.

Ioniqa Circular

Project: Competitive Circular Solution PET-plastic 

Duration: 2016 to present

The process of Ioniqa the PET polyester is from waste streams such as PET bottles, carpets and clothing dissolved and degraded into a colorless material. It is the highest degree of upcycling we know today: low-quality waste materials back to the highest quality materials. The innovative and energy-efficient process is based on chemical circular recycling with smart, magnetic fluids. The effectiveness of tergwinning PET polyester has already been proven. And what is now possible with polyester from crude oil as a raw material, can possibly also from other materials in the short term. The Magnetic Smart Process Technology holds the promise for also other endlessly to recover materials in the near future.

Project: Hydraulic Wash Column (HWC) (klik hier voor de flyer)

By means of a washing column behind a smeltkristallisator impurities are removed by a countercurrent wash from the product stream. The technology produces a product purity of up to 99.9 percent and can be used for the purification of both solid and liquid products. A disadvantage of most of the purification techniques is that they consume a lot of energy. The HWC provides energy savings of 20 to 90 percent. Furthermore, the HWC technology highly scalable and can be applied to both small and large scale.

ARTEQ Power

Project: Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC)

Duration: 2015 to present

The Archisol concept has been developed by civil engineer Harold Lever, together with Wageningen University. With the principle of the Organic Rankine Cycle power is generated by circulation of heat and cold. Thus, this technology is very suitable for areas with a large difference in heat and cold temperatures of the water. Here, use is made of the principle of Archimedes: the difference in weight of a cold, liquid, working fluid and a heated, gaseous working fluid. The working fluid is heated via a heat exchanger, i.e. the cooled with ocean water, which results in a self-sufficient energy.

Dura Vermeer

Plant One Rotterdam and Dura vermeer degas brought the unit back to life. After having been used for the processing of vapors which were released during the cleaning of a chemical contaminated soil, there are now new applications developed for this system. Including the processing of VOC's (volatile organic compounds) released during the degassing of storage and transport tanks, a process in which these VOC's can be converted into usable energy.

D-project

Project: HetD

Duration: 2013 - 2015 (now Flex-Unit)

An installation for testing of environmentally friendly catalysts. This development leads to cleaner and more energy efficient production of chemicals and the plant will be used to quickly perform effective tests for multiple users. Through the use of other catalysts, the use of acids may be reduced as homogeneous catalysts. This can reduce all 130 TJ energy demand in the chemical supply chain in the Netherlands. With the installation innovations can be tested on an industrial scale, in such a way that they can also be rapidly applied in practice. In addition, the pilot plant is suitable for, for example, carrying out tests for chemical looping and process integration.
