The capture and storage of greenhouse gas CO2 (CCS) is a technology that – in addition to renewable energy, energy saving and nuclear energy – is necessary to combat serious global climate change. CCS is the only option to continue to use fossil fuels without contributing to climate change. In addition, it is realistic to expect this technology to be economically competitive with its alternatives.
